Inkjet Cartridges:
Refilling:
What is the proper way to handle an inkjet cartridge?
Don't Leave the cartridge outside the printer as ink will dry and clog the printhead nozzles. Take it to be refilled as early as you can and use the cartridge immediately after it has benn refilled by inke.
Why does a cartridge print horizontal white lines?
The main causes are 1; Clogged Printhead Nozzles, Dried ink residues may have blocked the printhead nozzles which prevent the ink from flowing smoothly. 2; After manual refilling air contamination, this does not happen when using the inke Automated Refill System as air is extracted before the cartridge is refilled. 3; 'Burnt out' print nozzles. Inkjet cartridges have electrical resistors that control the current to each outlet jet. The ink in the cartridge acts as a coolant for these resistors therfore when the cartridge is near empty and you continue to print overheating occurs.
Why does the printhead get clogged?
Ink that dries up at the nozzles will clog the printhead. N.B. it is important to refill your cartridge as soon as it begins to run out of ink. This prevents it from drying.
How can I prevent the printhead from burning out?
Do not print when print quality deteriorates. Avoid printing in a "no ink" situation this will overheat the resistors. Don't print when printouts display white streaks.
Inkjet Cartridge Refilling:
When should I refill my cartridge?
Refilling should be done as soon as the ink runs low, even better if a little earlier. Printing with an empty cartridge can damage your printhead.
What is the difference between standard dye based ink and pigmented ink?
Dye based ink is less water resistant and less fade resistant. Pigmented ink is more water resistant and more fade resistant. Inke systems use Pigmented ink.
Why should I refill my inkjet cartridge?
Through refilling you can take advantage of the extended life of the printhead. Refilling also means Recycling your ink cartridge which means less waste for the environment and savings for you when you don't purchase an original manufacturers cartridge.
After Refilling why does my cartridge still show it is not full?
HP40 and HP45 type cartridges use a green indicator on the side to indicate how much ink remains. This indicator moves out of view when the cartridge is empty and may not reappear after filling. This is due to the way the indicator is made. You can tell that the cartridge is not empty by its weight as it will be noticably heavier after refilling.
Why does my computer show "Low Ink" even after refilling?
Certain printers are programmed by the manufactuirer to remember a cartridge placed into the printer. Unless a different cartridge is loaded the printer will remember the the old ink level. This does not affect the quality or functionality of your cartridge or printer. Your cartridge will continue to print normally.
